Overview
The Spark Gold Nugget is a version of MWF's pocket-sized Spark locator that is set up specifically for natural gold. Instead of general treasure targets, the user chooses between four nugget size categories, tiny, small, medium and big, so the device's response is matched to what is expected in the area. The device is controlled by a few buttons and LEDs, making it easy to learn in the field.
It works on MWF's long-distance sensing principle, using digital frequency signal processing to receive the electrostatic fields of targets, with an acoustic alarm to guide the user. Depth can be set to 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 m and distance to 25, 50, 100, 150 or 200 m, with 360-degree coverage. These ranges are the manufacturer's claims, and a proper gold detector should be used to confirm and recover any nugget.
Four AAA batteries give around 32 working hours, and the unit weighs about 700 g. The Automatic Tuning System adapts it to different terrain. For gold prospectors in Pakistan's river beds and hilly areas who want a light scouting tool alongside a conventional detector, the Spark Gold Nugget is an inexpensive option.
