Fisher Impulse AQ Limited

The Fisher Impulse AQ Limited is a pulse induction (PI) detector designed for the beach and the water's edge. PI technology is largely unaffected by salt water and highly mineralised sand, conditions that reduce the depth of most VLF detectors, so the AQ is aimed at hunters who want deeper, steadier performance on difficult beaches. It brings PI performance to beach hunters at a lower weight than many traditional PI machines.

The Limited edition was the first release of the Impulse AQ, launched in 2020 as a limited production run. It has five modes – All Metal, Tone, Mute, Volcanic Sand and a battery/frequency setting – with the Volcanic Sand mode intended for black magnetic sands. There is no discrimination, so it is a dig-everything machine best for experienced hunters. Users should expect to dig more targets, since iron and junk are not rejected automatically.

The detector weighs about 4.2 lb, adjusts from 43 to 48 inches and is powered by a rechargeable NiMH battery pack averaging around 3.5 hours per charge.
