Garrett ACE 250

The ACE 250 is one of Garrett's best-known entry-level detectors and has introduced many people to the hobby. It uses one-touch push-button controls and a clear LCD with an expanded Target ID legend, so a new user can switch it on and start finding coins, jewellery and relics with very little setup. It remains a popular first purchase for good reason.

Five search modes, All Metal, Jewelry, Custom, Relics and Coins, are joined by an electronic pinpoint function to narrow down a target before digging. Accept and reject discrimination lets you ignore common junk, while a continuous coin depth indicator gives a rough idea of how deep a target sits. A battery condition indicator shows when it is time to change the AA cells.

The detector is fitted with a 6.5 x 9 inch PROformance search coil and accepts the wider range of ACE-series coils. It breaks down into three pieces for travel and has an adjustable arm cuff and a standard quarter-inch headphone jack. It is a sensible, low-cost choice for students and hobbyists in Pakistan who want to try detecting at parks, fields and old sites.
