GER Detect Titan 500 Smart

The Titan 500 Smart is GER Detect's multi-target long-range locator, also sold by UIG Detectors in Istanbul. It has four systems: one for gold, precious metals and buried treasure, one for diamonds, one for gemstones, and a depth determination and analysis system that is used once a target direction has been found. This makes it more of a prospecting tool than a coin or relic detector.

The gemstone system lists eighteen stone types, including emerald, ruby, sapphire, topaz, tourmaline, aquamarine and lapis lazuli, which is why it is popular with buyers interested in the gem-bearing areas of northern Pakistan. The manufacturer claims a front range of 3000 metres and a depth of 120 metres; treat these as the maker's figures rather than guaranteed performance, and confirm any signal before digging.

The unit uses a full-colour 480 x 272 touch screen, a 3.2 to 18 kHz operating frequency and an internal 27 Wh lithium-ion battery rated for about 10 hours. It is weatherproof but not waterproof, weighs about 4.9 kg as a complete kit, offers six languages including Arabic and is covered by a two-year warranty. It is sold as a complete kit in a carry case.
