Overview
The Delta Ranger Professional is OKM's multi-technology locator, combining long-range search modes with conventional ground imaging. It uses a compact 640 g control unit with a digital compass and three exchangeable probes: a Long-Range probe, a Thermo probe and a Ground Scan probe. Operation runs through an Android smartphone with the OKM app, which is included in the kit along with Bluetooth headphones.
Six modes are available: Bionic Stream, Ionic Stream, Magnetometer, 3D Ground Scan, Thermo Scan and Thermo Stream. According to the manufacturer, the long-range modes can work over distances of several miles using triangulation, and the ground scan is described as reaching up to 18 m (the page also mentions 60 ft). These distances are manufacturer claims, and results depend heavily on ground conditions and the operator's skill.
The thermal probe measures temperature with 0.1 °C resolution, which OKM uses to help indicate cavities and tunnels.
