Gold Stinger X6

The Gold Stinger X6 is the flagship model from Stinger Detectors, a brand that describes its machines as tools for deep treasure searching, ancient coin and archaeology hunting, and natural gold prospecting. It is presented as a general-purpose deep-search detector rather than a dedicated nugget machine, with several built-in systems that the user can switch between depending on the job.

The X6 is supplied with two coils, the compact GS30 and the wider GS50, so it can be set up for working tight or trashy spots or for covering more ground. The control unit has a large 4.6-inch HD colour LCD with a multilingual menu, and its modes include All Metal, Discrimination, Pinpoint, Ground Balance, Depth Detect, Target Scan and a Cavity Test, with a depth indicator that shows the approximate target depth in centimetres.

A Turbo mode is stated by the manufacturer to increase detection depth by up to 30 percent, and the brand's site describes the X6 as capable of up to 5 metres of depth with 95 percent discrimination; these are manufacturer claims and real results depend on target size and soil. Power comes from a fast-charging Li-Po battery that the maker rates for up to 12 hours and about 4 hours to charge.
