XP Deus II WS6 Master

The DEUS II WS6 Master is a stripped-down version of XP's flagship DEUS II. Instead of a separate remote control on the stem, all settings and target information are handled by the WS6 module, an 82 g control unit with a clear graphic screen that clips to the headphones. The result is one of the lightest serious detectors available, starting at about 750 g, with nothing extra hanging on the shaft.

Performance is the same FMF system used in the full DEUS II. You can run simultaneous multi-frequency or pick from 49 single frequencies between 4 and 45 kHz, with 12 factory and 12 user programs. Signals travel from the coil to the headphones over XP's fast wireless link, and the WS6 shows target ID and depth on a full-screen display, plus a 4-band audio equaliser.

The 9-inch or 11-inch FMF coil is waterproof, while the WS6 module is rainproof, so this pack suits land hunting and wet beaches rather than diving. Coil batteries last up to 20 hours and the headphones around 12 hours, with all parts charging in about 3 hours. An MI-6 pinpointer can be paired wirelessly. Made in France, it carries a 5-year warranty.
