Overview
The Ajax Primero is a professional multi-system machine built for users who want several search methods in one kit. It includes nine selectable systems, from 3D ground imaging and live scan through long-range, ionic and geophysical search to pulse induction and a spectrum analyser. This lets a team survey a large area first and then move to closer imaging and confirmation on the same visit.
The main unit has a 5-inch colour TFT screen and can also be connected to a tablet for a bigger view. Scans are saved to 1 GB of internal memory, enough for around 1000 scans, so results can be reviewed and compared later. Audio alerts change tone with distance, and the device can be used hand-held or mounted. A 7.4 V rechargeable battery gives about 10 hours of typical use.
Ajax lists gold, gold nuggets, silver, copper, bronze and other metals, plus meteorites, diamonds, emeralds, groundwater and cavities as targets. Depth figures are the manufacturer's own: around 30 metres for imaging, 50 metres for long-range search and up to 500 metres for the geophysical water system. Real performance always depends on soil, target size and operator skill. The Primero carries a two-year manufacturer warranty.
