AKA Intronik STF

The Intronik STF is AKA's top professional detector and the machine the company is best known for internationally. It transmits two frequencies at the same time, with the pair set by the coil fitted: 1-8 kHz, 2-14 kHz, 5-40 kHz or 7-60 kHz. Running two signals together lets the detector suppress ground effects while keeping sensitivity to both small and large objects.

AKA highlights its patented soil-compensation method, intended for highly mineralised and salty ground where many detectors become noisy. Targets are shown with sound and on a graphic display. The manufacturer rates a 21 mm coin at about 35 cm, a 32 mm coin at about 55 cm and large objects to around 1.5 m. Coils are interchangeable, from 6 inches up to 25 inches, and a 12x9-inch coil comes in the kit.

The detector weighs about 1.93 kg with lithium batteries and runs 8-10 hours per charge on two 18650 cells. It is not waterproof.
