Fisher 1280X Aquanaut

The Fisher 1280X Aquanaut is a classic underwater detector, first introduced in 1985 and still built for divers who need a machine that can go deep. The housing is submersible to 250 feet, so it can be used for SCUBA diving, snorkelling, wading or simply on the beach and dry land. It operates at a low 2.4 kHz frequency, which is strong on high-conductive targets such as silver coins and larger jewellery but less sensitive to very small gold. Operation is turn-on-and-go with automatic tuning, plus adjustable sensitivity, discrimination and volume, and a discrimination mode or all-metal mode with audio and visual target response. The control box can be carried on the shaft or removed and worn on the hip or chest, and the pole collapses for travel.
