Fisher F70

The Fisher F70 is a multi-purpose VLF detector built around a 13 kHz frequency, a middle-ground choice that works for coins and relics while still giving good sensitivity to jewellery and gold nuggets. It is known for its fast recovery speed, which helps separate targets lying close together in trashy ground. It has been popular with hunters who want one detector to cover many different types of site.

Ground balancing is done with Fisher's touch-pad Ground Grab, and the large LCD shows a 0–99 numeric target ID along with soil mineralisation and a signal-strength confidence reading. Users can switch between a fast default retune and a slower setting for deep or small targets, and choose from multiple audio tone options in discrimination mode. These readouts help users judge how difficult the ground is and how reliable a target signal looks.

The detector weighs about 2.9 lb on four AA batteries that last up to roughly 40 hours, and it ships with a waterproof 11-inch DD elliptical coil; Kellyco also sells a 5-inch plus 11-inch coil combo. The control box is not waterproof. In Pakistan it suits hunters who want one machine for relics, coins and occasional gold prospecting. Its comfortable balance means long sessions can be completed without heavy arm fatigue.
