Overview
The Fisher Gold Bug Tracker was announced in March 2025 as an easy-to-use gold detector for new prospectors. It is built on the Gold Bug Pro platform with a 19 kHz crystal-controlled frequency, but its headline feature is automatic ground tracking, which keeps the detector balanced to changing soil without the user having to keep pressing a ground-grab button. This makes it one of the easiest gold detectors for beginners to set up and use correctly.
Two modes are offered: All Metal for prospecting and Discrimination for rejecting junk. The LCD shows a 0–99 target ID, ground information, signal strength and an estimated depth, and a no-motion pinpoint mode helps locate the exact spot. Two-tone audio comes through a built-in speaker or through either 1/4-inch or 1/8-inch headphone jacks. These readouts give useful information without overwhelming a new user with too many settings.
The waterproof 5-inch closed round coil is compact for rocky ground, while the control box must be kept dry. Total weight is about 2 lb 8 oz with one 9V battery, which lasts over 15 hours on good alkaline cells. For Pakistani users it is a sensible first step into gold prospecting in hilly, mineralised areas. It is a practical and modern entry point into the Gold Bug family of nugget detectors.
