Overview
The AT Gold is Garrett's all-terrain detector aimed at prospectors. It runs at a higher frequency than the AT Pro, which makes it more responsive to small gold nuggets, while still working well for relics, coins and jewellery. The sealed housing is submersible in fresh water to 10 feet, so creeks and wet ground are no problem. It bridges the gap between general hobby detectors and dedicated nugget machines.
Ground handling is a key strength: you can use Fast Track automatic ground balance, set it manually, or use Garrett's Ground Balance Window to keep it stable on mineralised soil. A True All Metal mode with All Metal Iron Audio gives maximum depth while still warning of iron, and Graphic Target Analyzing helps read the signal. High-resolution iron discrimination offers 44 levels.
The detector ships with a 5 x 8 inch PROformance DD search coil, a compact size that helps find small gold and work between rocks, along with MS-2 headphones. It runs on four AA batteries.
