Garrett Axiom

The Axiom is Garrett's flagship pulse induction (PI) detector for gold prospecting. PI technology ignores most of the heavy ground mineralisation that troubles ordinary VLF machines, so the Axiom can search hot, iron-rich soils and reach deeper nuggets. It is designed for serious prospectors working goldfields, dry riverbeds and mountain ground. It is a professional tool rather than a casual hobby detector, and it rewards careful, slow searching.

Garrett's Terra-Scan dual-channel ground balance keeps the detector stable as soil changes, while the Iron Check feature, available with DD-FC coils, helps tell iron trash from possible gold before you dig. Four preset settings can be customised for different conditions, and you can choose between PWM and VCO audio depending on how you like to hear faint targets. These tools help reduce wasted digging on large goldfields.

This full package includes both a 13 x 11 inch DD-FC coil and an 11 x 7 inch mono coil, MS-3 wireless headphones, an external AA power pack and a carry case. A built-in lithium-ion battery gives up to about 16 hours of use, and the detector weighs around 1.9 kg with the smaller mono coil and collapses to 63.5 cm for transport.
