Overview
The Magnetar 9000 is Nokta's top-tier gold prospecting detector and the brand's dedicated pulse induction machine. It is designed for the hard, hot, iron-rich ground found across goldfields in Africa, Australia and similar regions, including the mineralised hills and river beds many Pakistani prospectors work. Its job is simple: find gold nuggets at depth where ordinary VLF detectors are overwhelmed by ground noise.
At the heart of the system is Nokta's Dual-Receiver Coil (DRC) design, supplied in two sizes. The large MG37 coil is suited to covering ground and reaching deeper targets, while the smaller MG29 is easier to manoeuvre between rocks and is better for hunting small nuggets in tight spots. An Easy Menu with ready-tuned settings helps newer users get going, and an Expert Menu opens up full control for experienced prospectors.
The detector is built for long field days. It ships with two rechargeable lithium-ion packs rated at around 10 hours each, a telescopic carbon fibre shaft that collapses for transport, Bluetooth wireless headphones, and a backpack. The housing is IP68 rated and dust-tight, so it can handle rain, creek work and dusty desert conditions, and its firmware can be updated as Nokta releases improvements.
