Overview
The Fortuna Xela is a compact handheld pinpointer sold through OKM. Its job is to find the exact location of a small metal object once your main detector or scanner has signalled it, saving time when digging. The tip senses metal in all directions, so you can sweep the side walls and bottom of a hole as well as the loose soil you have removed.
It runs at 12 kHz and gives its alerts by sound, vibration or both, with the signal getting stronger as the tip gets closer to the target. A switchable LED lamp helps in deep holes or low light, and a changeable tip with a scraping blade is supplied. The Xela is waterproof to 5 m, so it can also be used at the beach, in streams or in shallow water.
Power comes from a single 9V battery giving up to 30 hours of use, with a low battery warning and automatic switch-off after five minutes. At 26.5 cm and about 206 g it fits easily on a belt in the included holster. For Pakistani hobbyists hunting coins, keys, rings or small relics, it is a useful add-on to any detector.
