Overview
The UIG Ground Scanner is UIG Detectors' mid-size imaging device for precious metals, treasures and cavities. It combines three systems: a live ground scan that shows what lies beneath the sensor in real time, a live wall scan for checking old walls and structures for hidden spaces, and a 3D imaging system that builds a picture of the ground after a grid survey.
UIG quotes a maximum depth of 30 metres. In practice, imaging devices work best when an area of interest has already been identified, so the Ground Scanner is often paired with a long-range or conventional detector. Its dual sound output and depth display in metres help the user decide whether a signal deserves excavation. That saves a lot of wasted digging time on false signals.
The scanner has a movable arm that extends from 600 mm to 880 mm and weighs 1.1 kg, with a total kit weight of about 3.9 kg. A 10.8 V, 27 Wh lithium-ion battery is rated for 10 hours, and Bluetooth connects it to the display device. It is weatherproof rather than waterproof and offers six languages, including English and Arabic.
