XP Deus II

The XP DEUS II is the French maker's flagship detector and one of the most respected machines in the world. Its Fast Multi Frequency (FMF) system transmits several frequencies at once, or you can choose from 49 single frequencies between 4 and 45 kHz. That flexibility lets one machine handle coins and relics in farmland, jewellery on wet salty beaches and small gold in mineralised ground.

Everything is wireless. The coil, remote control and headphones communicate over XP's own low-latency digital radio link, so there are no cables on the stem and target signals reach your ears without delay. Starting at about 750 g, it is extremely light to swing. The coils are IP68 and rated to 20 metres, and with the optional BH-01 bone conduction headphones the DEUS II can be used for diving.

The remote holds 12 factory and 12 user programs and gives detailed control of discrimination, reactivity, iron volume, notch, tones and ground tracking or grab. Batteries last up to 25 hours in the remote and around 20 hours in the coil, with all parts charging in about 3 hours. Software can be updated by USB, and the detector is made in France with a 5-year warranty.
